Who stands for the children you call a choice? Calling ‘murder’ a ‘choice’ doesn’t obliterate the fact that you just murdered a child.

If we do not know when ‘life begins’ or ‘full humanness’ is attained then there is nothing wrong with butchering a 2 year old, drilling a whole in its skull and then sucking its brains out. A baby can feel pain by the end of the second month, it has a heartbeat, brain activity, digestive system all functioning by the end of the first month. At conception it fits the biological definition of life: it has metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and cell reproduction. That’s life according to scientists.

I was one of those people holding an “Abortion KILLS Children” signs yesterday in my City. I felt so sorry, for one young “lady” who took our picture, gave us “thumbs down” and drove off. Perhaps, just like you she didn’t have a chance to grow up yet.

it’s fair, no matter how you look at it. it’s clearly not fair for me, and it’s not fair to the baby that we’ll never have enough money for him. plus i can’t help but resent him a little bit, so he might never get the kind of love he deserves. so you might say i should put him up for adoption, but he’s already ruined my life, there’s no way my parents would let me, and i’m already in an arranged marriage with it’s dad.

i am sorry for your pain. you should not have had to carry any pregnancy to term. there is such a program called judicial bypass where a minor can go to court to override a parents decision to not let them have an abortion. but it is too late for you. have you talked to your doctor about birth control? that might help. and if you would like to prevent other people from being in your position, consider volunteering or supporting your local planned parenthood. take care.

although the rape argument is an important one, they do only take up 2% of the reasons why people choose to abort children. 94% are because of convenience, an example of this could be that the mother believes that she does not have the means to support the child, or it could be because they don’t think they are ready to have a child.
I don’t know if these are valid reasons to abort a child. I do think that adoption would by far be a much better option, and although I am sure that there are some situations where abortion is the only option, I think that a very good majority are aborted for very invalid reasons.
I do think that aborting a child is not the best thing to do. I personally am very glad that I was not aborted, I like being alive, and i think that most of the fetuses/children that died would probably rather be alive too.
I am really not one for internet insulting, and of course, whatever I say or whatever you say will not make a difference to any of us. But I do urge all of us to strongly look at what we believe and try to understand what others say before we rashly comment.
autumn: your arguments are based on emotional appeals and spin tactics. first off, your statement that rape victims shouldnt get abortions because it is wrong to punish someone for their fathers crime shows your ignorance about how rape traumatizes a woman and why they would want to get them in the first place. getting an abortion after rape has NOTHING to do with vengeance upon the unborn. it has to do with wanting your bodily integrity back and to be able to make decisions regarding your future. when a woman has been raped the control of her body has been stolen from her. she has been dehumanized to the status of an object. the last thing that most rape victims would want is to be debased again by being forced to be an incubator for a child that was conceived in violence. to deny choice for rape victims is to deny them their self determination and their right to autonomy. it is imperitive for rape victims to feel in control of their bodies and for someone else to come in and deny her the right to end an imposed pregnancy is enacting a second rape upon her. it is simply magnifying her victimization. the fetus by the age of 9 weeks weight less than 2 grams and is the size of a pencil point. that is hardly the equivalent of a fully formed human being like a woman is. to put the welfare of a non-sentient almost microscopic life form with no ability to even care about itself above the needs of an already devastated woman is archaic to say the least. the fetus will not miss its life for it had none to begin with. indeed forcing childbirth upon rape victims could and in many cases would mean a lifetime of pain for both. pain for the mother in losing her humanity and pain for the child in knowing how it came to be and how its very existence ruined its mothers life.

Hello, I had an abortion when I was 17 because of circumstances too complicated to explain, but even though my circumstances were awful, I wanted to keep that baby, I was 12 weeks along, and most abortions are performed between 6 and 12 weeks, by then the baby is a DISTINCT child! Women that are given the choice do it for selfish reasons, believe it or not there were women in that room with me doing it because they didn’t want to lose their figure or because they couldn’t get promoted if they had a baby! SELFISHNESS! I REGRET MY ABORTION! And for those that feel sorry for the women raped, I personally know a women that kept her child after being raped and she says her daughter is the best and most beautiful thing that came out of the horrible act. Babies are babies, whether just conceived or full term, they have their own DNA like no one else and distinct features, I don’t care what it shows on an ultrasound, until your inside the womb looking at that “lump of cells” don’t talk about how Pro-Choice you are because you haven’t been there… I’ve seen 3d and 4d ultrasounds done on babies just conceived, and what do ya’ know?! IT LOOKS LIKE A HUMAN TO ME! You know I understand if you have to have an abortion because if you don’t you could die! Or if there is something medical like a baby has no brain…. Or something like that! I had a tubel ligation and got pregnant but they didnt see it in my uterus. The didn’t know where it was but my HCG kept rising till it was over 4000. The doctors checked it every week and it kept rising. One night I got deathly ill. I felt like I was dyeing. I drove myself to the hospital and they said I was bleeding internally. I had to be rushed in for emergency surgery. I woke up with a 7 inch insicion on my right side. They had to remove my whole right tube which rejuvinated and that was where the baby was still alive and growing. The tube ruptured. If I wouldnt have went in I would of died. I see if it is something medical. But to just save your shape or because you don’t have money, or it is an inconvieniance….. Then why the frick would you spread your legs. After seeing all the photos and researching …. NOOOO SELFISH! SICKNING!
well it is hard to say unless your the young woman in that position. Sure its easy for us to say “thats cruelty, no woman should chose to killer her child” but when you are 17 and pregnant with no job or money its very hard to not consider abortion. So lets try to keep an open mind about it. I am not saying that i am pro-abortion. But i can see when it is necessary i.e. in rape cases. A woman makes the CHOICE of having sex KNOWING that there is a risk of becoming pregnant. It’s not like she accidentally falls on a phallus while taking a stroll down the street.

Here’s an analogy: if you ride a motorcycle, you KNOW you’re taking risks. If you get into an accident, there’s not “make it all better” analogy to abortion here because mother nature takes care of this one.

The thought of abortion after having children makes me so sick. They are amazing and helpless. There are so many people that cannot have children and would make wonderful parents. ADOPTION.
I believe that anyone who chooses to preach how wrong abortions are, how utterly inhumane they are, should be made to adopt the children of those in need. If one cares so severely about the safety of fetuses in the wombs of those they do not know, then why would it be unfair or unjust to say that these “pro-life” preachers should not be made accountable for millions of babies being born every year without a stable home to grow up in. If you preach how another should live their lives, then it is your responsibility to do something about it, not simply watch a video and say how much it makes you cry. Grow up, take the responsibility and adopt as many children as possible. I find complete justification in saying that. If a woman feels so lost, so completely unprepared for a child, and abortion was not available to them, many kids would grow up in foster homes, children’s aid societies, completely unloved, (though I know there are many people who would love an adoptive child) My point is, unless you are prepared to sacrifice yourself for someone else, your opinion is completely useless. If you want to preach because you are so appalled by someone else’s mistakes, help them fix it, instead of whining and making people feel bad. Complaining about how terrible the world is never did a thing for anybody.
And anyone who preaches abstinence is a robot. Abstinence is illogical, unimaginable, unreliable, and needless to say unrealistic. People have sex because that’s what our bodies are for. Anyone who doesn’t know that, or pretends like they don’t are lying and live in what you would call a “Dreamworld”. I believe in safe sex, but understand that it doesn’t always happen that way, and by demonizing or complaining about those who make mistakes is simply a way of hiding your own mistakes. “Take the log out of your own eye, only then can you help someone take the log out of their eye”. I don’t even have to explain this. Anyone over 10 knows that sex happens. With or without a condom. Deal with it, or life will continue to be more difficult for you.
This entire argument is based on typical women crying and making everyone else seem like the bad guy. The people who do nothing about a situation, only complain about it, is typically worse then the perpetrator. So shut it, or do something. ADOPTION! An eye for an eye, and the whole world is blind.
Living life preaching morality is one thing, it’s quite another to accept the choices of others, live with your mistakes as well as those of others, and to truly love someone, enough to let them fix their mistakes, in whatever way they see fit. We are all learning here people. Learn to judge less, and learn more.

I need not respond to your angry talk, because if anyone were to read that response, the only conclusion that they could come to is that you are an uneducated person, who, when challenged, can do nothing but make personal remarks and think they have won the argument. How ridiculous it sounds when people say “sex just happens”. It doesn’t “just happen” it’s a CHOICE, notice the word, please it’s very important. If someone’s so adamant about being againsed having a child but still wants to have sex, there’s surgeries that can take care of that. When you do an action, any action at all, there is a consequence. Sex is an action. That’s the problem with countries like the US, France, and all the other “powers” of the world. The people there are raised in little “bubbles” where everything is perfect and if you get pregnant, there’s abortion. Like it never happened or something.

You judge because you are uneducated on the subject of human instincts. Human nature is not so solely based on emotions and morals and choices, but more the chance to reproduce, the drive to create another, in the only way we know how. We have sex. Its how bodies function, the reason one goes through puberty, the reason we are able to have orgasms, masturbate, to be attracted to others. Our bodies WANT to reproduce. Thankfully there are measures to prevent pregnancy. We get pleasure out of it, which is why someone uses a condom to have sex, why the hell would someone do that unless they were DRIVEN to have sex. It’s a choice to accept your human instincts. Thats the choice in this matter. Making comments on my personal life makes your argument even more weak, thanks for ruining it for yourself.
you’re quite right about the personal life comment, I’m quite sorry. What I meant to say, in a not so personal way, is that we do have control over ourselves. You can’t just say that have to have sex, nothing is making us do it. We definitely have control over our actions. You’re trying to say there’s no way to live life without having sex, but there is. It’s not a necessity. If someone doesn’t have the ability to control their actions, then they don’t really belong in our society as adults now do they?

That is very true. I can agree with alot of what both sides of this discussion say… I agree that people should be responsible and take measures to not get preagnant in the first place but I, as a woman, think that having the choice to have a child or not is important. And that’s simply because not all accidental mothers turn out to be good ones, I dare say that most children born under such conditions are destined to suffer throughout their chilhood, weather form having resentful, uncapable parents or from being put up for adoption. In that light I can see how it could be better to spare them that.
Not trying to play god by deciding what is best but rather using ones best judgement in this very imperfect world.

My Mom was raped, but she kept me. I’m a school teacher now, and I work with special Ed. I make a difference…What if I was aborted? My mom and I are VERY close! She loves me and has since the day I was born. She always told me I was her little blessing. I know its hard for those women, but we are so narrow minded. There is a bigger picture, it’s called Life. Who are we as Humans to play God. And I don’t believe any human, woman or man, if they could actually see and watch and hold their so called “fetus” (baby) and hold it in their hands and watch it develop and see its little heartbeat and watch its fingers form would decide to crack its skull open with scissors and suck it into a vacuum, no matter what the circumstances were, weather your 14, or raped, or 35 with a job opportunity coming up. What makes it different in the womb than in your hands. Pro-choice IS exactly that. PRO-CHOICE. It doesn’t mean I want women to have abortions all the time, and it doesn’t mean I condemn women who actually have birthed babies conceived from rape. Do you know why? Because it was their choice (hopefully) to bring it to term. Just like it would have been their choice to have an abortion. Even if you dislike abortion, you should never have hatred for women who have chosen to go through with them.

Also, women who have had abortions do not always get them because of “reckless behavior”. Are you serious?! Also, many if not nearly all abortions are done within the first trimester of pregnancy. At that point, the fetus isn’t really that well formed, so to call it the “slaughter of children” is a bit false.
